Yakan Table Runner
Sourced through our longtime partner Evelynda Otong, these Yakan table runners carry the warmth of Basilan and the strength of intergenerational artistry. Now based in Zamboanga City, Evelynda works alongside fellow artisans at the Yakan Village, where weaving is not just a craft—it’s a community tradition built on tuwas (joy), camaraderie, and deep ancestral connection.
Evelynda began weaving at age five, guided by her elders. Today, she passes on the same oral tradition to her daughter Princess, who started weaving at just four years old. Each runner carries this lineage—threads of memory, love, and resilience—woven into bold geometric patterns unique to the Yakan people.
These table runners are a living tradition—testaments to the power of family, artistry, and cultural survival. Let your space tell their story. Let legacy live on your table.
