Marino Bomber Jacket
In recent years, pocketed jackets have carried an unexpected weight. Fear stitched into everyday life. The Marino Bomber Jacket was designed in the midst of immigration crackdowns, when raids swept through city streets and families were torn apart. In that moment, I wanted to reclaim the jacket as something else entirely: not a source of anxiety, but an act of love.
This piece is imagined as an ancestral embrace. Each woven pocket is a quiet prayer and protection carried close to the body, a reminder that we are held by those who came before us. The Marino Bomber Jacket is a symbol of hope for anyone living with uncertainty, meant to feel like comfort, warmth, and reassurance when the world feels unsteady.
Crafted from organic cotton twill and lined with soft deadstock jersey, the jacket features pockets made from our retaso weavings. Nothing is wasted, every textile is honored, every fragment thoughtfully placed. What began as a response to fear became a joyful act of care and intention in our studio.
Designed to be worn by all bodies and identities, the Marino Bomber Jacket comes in a range of sizes and is made for anyone who needs a little extra protection, strength, and love, wrapped around them.
