When I first moved to California, I found myself at baseball games—at first, for a partner who played for a Mid-State University, and later, for work, seated close to the field surrounded by rows of cheering fans. But what stood out the most? The overwhelming presence of Filipinos in the stands. At first, the game dragged on, slow and uneventful. But then I realized: we weren’t there for the game—we were there for each other.

The Higantes Baseball Shirt is a tribute to that layered experience. Named for the spirit of something larger than ourselves, it draws from a personal journey of diasporic memory, from assimilation to decolonial awakening. Baseball—once introduced to the Philippines through American colonization—has somehow become a place of community for many in the diaspora. This shirt embraces both the complexity and the beauty of that.

Designed with a soft, structured silhouette, this shirt is made with ethically sourced cotton/silk blend linen and detailed with a shadowed kusikus weave from our partner artisans in Paoay, Ilocos Norte. It's stitched with care by our Manila Studio, each piece carrying stories of land, labor, and legacy.
